Announces another USD 2.5 billion military aid package to fight against Russian aggression
Washington: A Top general in the United States has stated, in contrast to what the Ukrainian president claims, that the Russian army will be militarily expelled from all of Ukraine’s occupied territory this year. The chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Miley, stated on Friday that while it would be challenging to expel the Russian army, it is not impossible. According to a report from the news agency PTI, General Miley said at a press conference in Germany that, from a military perspective, he still believes that Russia will occupy or control every inch of Ukraine this year, making it extremely difficult to militarily drive out the Russian army.
He continued by saying that while it won’t be easy, it doesn’t mean it can’t happen. According to General Miley, the Ukrainians may undertake a substantial tactical or perhaps operational-level offensive to free as much Ukrainian land as they can, depending on the supply of US equipment and the training of the Ukrainian military. Let us tell you that the United States on Thursday announced another US $ 2.5 billion military aid package to Ukraine to fight against Russian aggression, bringing the total US military aid to US $ 27.5 billion.
According to an official statement, this aid package will provide Ukraine with hundreds of additional armored vehicles, including Stryker armored personnel carriers, infantry fighting vehicles, mine-resistant ambush protected vehicles and high mobility multi-purpose wheeled vehicles. The package also includes significant additional air defense support for Ukraine, including more Avenger air defense systems and surface-to-air missiles, as well as additional munitions for NASAMS, which the US previously provided Was.
