The Click Times: The company unveiled four versions of the new phone at its Cupertino headquarters, in-person for the first time since the pandemic. It also showed off a brand new extreme sports wearable, the Watch Ultra.
The event focused on the next generation of iPhone, Watch and AirPod products.

Apple Watch Series 8
Apple Watch Series 8 has many new features, including car crash detection, a temperature sensor for tracking ovulation cycles, and new sleep mode options.
Due to changes in U.S. abortion laws, people have been wary of menstrual trackers and fears that data about menstruation could be used by law enforcement agencies. Apple says data on its devices is encrypted and can only be accessed with a password or biometrics.
“We’re going even further in our commitment to women’s health,” said Jeff Williams, Apple’s chief operating officer.
Apple says a new automatic retroactive ovulation notification could help those trying to conceive.
When activated, the new watch can monitor body temperature every five seconds at night and detect tiny changes that can signal ovulation.
Another new feature is car crash detection. Using sensors, the watch can detect serious accidents and automatically connect the wearer to emergency services, provide their precise location, and notify emergency contacts.
The Series 8 also now features Power Save Mode, a feature borrowed from the iPhone that promises up to 36 hours of battery life on a full charge.
The Apple Watch Series 8 starts at $399 in the US and £419 in the UK.
All About iPhone 14
The company is launching the iPhone 14 in two sizes, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.
The new phone can send emergency calls via satellite. The phone displays the positions of passing satellites and demonstrates how to properly point the device at them.
Sending a simple message can take anywhere from 15 seconds to a few minutes.
“It could take Apple years to piece all the pieces together, including a commercial deal with satellite provider Globalstar, and creating the infrastructure needed to pass information to emergency services.”
Technology analyst Paolo Pescatore said he believed the innovation would be good news for consumers in “hard-to-reach areas.”
“It’s encouraging that providers are starting to take the use of satellites seriously — ultimately, a reliable and robust connection is still very much needed by all users,” he said.
About It’s Camera
The tech giant has announced a new 12-megapixel camera capable of taking photos of fast-moving objects, which the company claims has improved low-light shooting by 49 percent.
The front-facing camera also features autofocus for the first time to sharpen selfies.
According to Apple, iPhone users have taken more than 3 trillion photos in the past 12 months.

The iPhone 14 Pro Max
iPhone Pro models 14 and 14 Pro Max sport a pill-shaped cutout on the top of their screens.
The Dynamic Island replaces the black notch on some iPhone models. It acts as a space for notifications to display and can change shape depending on what messages are available.
Aside from the change of a small battery, the phone’s battery can always power the device.
When the phone isn’t being used, it lowers its screen’s refresh rate and dims its screen.
The handset comes in black, silver, gold, and purple. It’s a deep purple color. The iPhone Pro 14 costs $999.00 or £1099.00.
