In 2010 Rishi left Terra Firma to pursue a career in politics after being elected as Member of Parliament for Richmond constituency on 6 May 2010. He has now been appointed as Prime Minister by Theresa May after she failed to get enough votes from Parliament for her Brexit deal with the EU.
Rishi Sunak, who was born in India and has been a Conservative MP for Richmond since 2010, has become Britain’s first Indian-origin Prime Minister. He is the son of a British mother and an Indian father. His father was a doctor in India and his mother was a nurse in the UK.
