The Ferrari Purosangue is the Company’s First Four-Door Sedan

The Click Times: Ferrari has unveiled the first four-door production car from the storied Italian automaker. It has a long hood that houses a petrol engine, a large area in the back for four people, and plenty of cargo space. It is also an all-wheel drive vehicle. But given the company’s sporting and racing history, Ferrari insists it’s not as vulgar as a “sport utility vehicle.”

The Ferrari Purosangue, which means “pure blood” in Italian, looks like a crossover SUV, but Ferrari doesn’t call it that. Ferrari refers to the Purosangue as a “car” and contrasts its technology with that of a typical SUV. Ferrari says the Purosangue’s big engine is Ferrari’s famous 715-horsepower V12, which is further behind the front wheels to create better weight balance than similar cars.

Ferrari has built four-seater cars before, but Ferrari’s regular production cars are two-door models with rear seats more suitable for occasional use than long-distance travel. The Purosangue features four full-size, fully reclining seats, a first for any Ferrari model. The front and rear seats are also heated, and the front seats also have a massage function. According to Ferrari, a special full-length black-out glass roof is offered as an option, and for passengers, there is a second screen that “provides all the information needed to help them participate in the driving experience”.

The Ferrari Purosangues are not SUVs. They’re actually called “crossover sport utility vehicles,” or crossovers for short. And they’re built on the same platform as the Ferrari FF. The Purosangue was designed to be a luxury car for people who wanted something different. As a result, it does not have any off road capabilities.

The Purosangue was designed to compete with the Porsche Macan and Audi Q7. But unlike those cars, the Purosangue comes with a V12 engine.

The Purosangues have a 4.0L twin-turbocharged V12 engine that produces 603 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque. That’s enough power to get the car from 0 to 60 mph in less than three seconds.

The Purosangoes’ design is based on the Ferrari California T. Like California, the Purosangoes have a long hood and short rear overhang. The Purosangsue has a carbon fiber body and aluminum doors. The interior is finished in leather and Alcantara. The Purosangaes will be priced at $200,000. The Purosange will go on sale in 2019.
