All of Central America, much of Africa, and parts of North America may be in the debris's path, according to Aerospace corporation.

The main concern is the core stage of China's Long March 5B rocket, which weighs 22.5 tons and is the size of a 10-story building.

The US nonprofit Aerospace Corp. predicted the booster would re-enter the atmosphere at 1120 GMT (4:30 p.m. IST) on Friday, plus or minus three hours.

Most of the body of the rocket is expected to burn up in the atmosphere, but the more robust parts can survive and reach the ground, posing a threat to infrastructure and human life.
