New York Fashion Week 2022: 5 Fall Trends You Must Know NOW

New York Fashion Week 5 Fall Trends You Must Know NOW - The Click Times

The Click Times: New York, a lot occurred! From Lil Nas X’s iconic outfit to Emily Ratajkowski, Hari Nef, and more’s catwalk appearances. Not to mention the upcoming fall 2022 fashion trends. The celebration included a look back at the illustrious past of our publication as well as a look at current trends in fashion. Both approaches were equally stylish.

Five themes can be distilled from the runway, which took place in the Meatpacking District of Manhattan and featured a tonne of clothing from our favourite brands including Gucci, Khaite, Adidas, and Balenciaga. The fashion show, which was styled by Alex Harrington, provided a rundown of the upcoming autumn 2022 trends. The new bohemian trend, which combines craftsmanship and a free-spirited attitude, comes first. Additionally, there is athletic couture (a style best described as athluxury) and a nostalgically heady retro-inspired appearance. Next, there is classic tailoring, which you will adore regardless of your mood for fashion. The metallics trend is the last one, and it urges you to stand out this season, no matter what is on your to-do list.

The Modern Boho Edit:

Most people are aware with the staples of bohemian fashion, including frizzling fringes, floral prints, patchwork, crochet, tie-dyes, and more, but on the autumn runways, the trend took on a neo-bohemian twist with a focus on beauty and elegance. There were still traces of traditional craft everywhere, such as paisley designs and homespun textiles, which made one think of the old-timey flower children. However, a rebirth in neo-bohemian fashion has begun owing to a number of designers like Etro, Chloé, Ulla Johnson, Sea, Zimmermann, and others that have made the look their own.

There are many positive aspects of the neo-bohemian style, but its greatest strength is that it was inspired by a desire to support global craftsmen and sustainable design techniques. The modern woman who embraces her festive, bohemian spirit will love this crafty, earthy, and very purposeful trend, which includes everything from knit maxi dresses and sleek suede to Western cowboy boots and dressed-up denim.

The Sport Couture Edit:

Athleisure is probably already a common concept to you, but what about athluxury? Thanks to inspiration from sportswear and fresh partnerships with designer companies, the sporty look pioneered by off-duty models has evolved into runway-ready pieces.

It was just a matter of time until sport style set a new standard for fashion. Consider the puffer coat’s journey. Almost every designer has created their own rendition of it, which has transformed from a sporty outerwear alternative to a stylish fixture in Fall/Winter seasons. So it comes as no surprise that knitwear, dresses, and track pants all went in the same way. Along with the usual sweatshirts, sweatpants, and sneakers, ready-to-wear now incorporates sporting components as well.

This fall, you can get varsity jackets from Saint Laurent, knee-length pleated tennis skirts from Miu Miu, and a tracksuit-turned-dress from Victoria Beckham. Even Louis Vuitton and Dior have interpreted the fashion-sportswear combination, offering in-motion heels fashioned of technical fabric and oversized rugby shirts worn over evening gowns, respectively. It also wouldn’t be athluxury without mentioning the numerous Balenciaga, Gucci, and Wales Bonner collaborations with Adidas, which are currently available for purchase as well as the rest of the autumn.

A retro-inspired edit:

You can blame Baz Lurhmann’s portrayal of Elvis. Or maybe it was the lavish leather midi skirts from Bottega Veneta that walked the runway (in buttercup yellow and purple!). Perhaps it was even the enormous collars on the leather-trimmed, studded jackets from Gucci.

In any event, a trend that is becoming increasingly popular this fall may simply be described as retro fashion—or, if you prefer, retro-to-wear.

New York runway show praised the King of Rock-inspired outfit. Here, zebra-printed midi skirts by Proenza Schouler were displayed alongside totally polka-dotted black and white outfits by Marc Jacobs. The specific era to which each of these pieces is a nod to nostalgia and a bygone flare is less significant. With shin-grazing hemlines and headscarves, several designers have channelled the primness of the 1950s for fall 2022. Some people have experienced a gravitational pull toward the swinging ’60s, which is typified by micro-miniskirts, shift dresses, and shiny, slippery patent leather.

As time goes on, the 1970s serve as another important point of influence; designers looked to our pussy bow blouses and sepia-inspired colour stories. You may combine them all to create nostalgic looks that are unmistakably fall 2022.

The Forever Classic Edit:

There were several well-polished silhouettes for fall 2022, and tailoring was a recurring trend. The sharp, asymmetrical white suit from Proenza Schouler and the sharp-shouldered, double-breasted blazers from Sportmax are just a couple of the many ways that this season’s tailoring trends can be worn and styled. For example, you can add a coloured knit layer underneath coordinated suiting or mix sleek separates.

Thoughtful accents give these classic pieces a modern twist. For instance, the contrasting-waistband trousers from The Row or the gold-buttoned suit vest from By Malene Birger. Along with elegant ready-to-wear, you can find timeless accessories with the same modern spin, such as pumps with angular new proportions, lovely daybags, and sculptural gold earrings that are both statement-making and elegantly understated.

These all present an upgraded perspective on wardrobe essentials. This is what we mean by “forever style.”

The Metallic Moments Edit:

One piece of clothing is essential if you want to be the best-dressed visitor at the upcoming fall soirees. Ladies and gentlemen, allow us to reintroduce the metallic trend to you. From Altuzarra’s graduated sequin gown to LaQuan Smith’s seductively chill button-up shirt, glittering paillettes were the focus of several fall 2022 catwalk presentations.

While there were a few pops of colour, such as the shimmering lavender dress from Off-White or the cult-favorite double-bow mules by Mach & Mach, this fall will be dominated by adaptable tones of silver, gold, and black.

Start with a stunning pair of earrings if you want to ease into the style. Dynamic hoops by Laura Lombardi have been added to our wish list. Any big event calls for a timeless handbag, especially if it’s Gucci’s golden Dionysus bag or the cool girl-approved Benedetta Bruzziches shoulder bag, which is covered in hundreds of crystals.
